OUR STORY Motorsports Performance Design, Inc. is owned and operated by Eric and Melissa Peters. We pride ourselves on outstanding quality and craftsmanship. When it comes to designing and manufacturing our parts we cut absolutely no corners where expense or time is concerned. We believe in order to keep customers satisfied we have to bring to them high quality, excellent fit and smooth finish. We believe if you are happy we will receive your referrals and that is what keeps us in business. We use steel frames with our Monte Carlo and Grand Prix hood undersides to ensure excellent fit. Some of our later model hoods and parts such as the SSR, GTO, and G6 hoods are made with a combination of steel inner working and fiberglass to ensure excellent fit, light weight, yet durability at the stress points. The top side of all our hoods are made from the finest resins to ensure smooth finish. Each hood is built using a jig that was constructed with the stock hood. Our hoods use factory mounting struts and hinges to ensure strength and safety. Our spoilers are also a snap to install using the factory mounting holes when possible. Our hoods also have crash test crumple zones built into the underside to insure safety in case of a collision as well. We believe that our dedication to quality and perfection is the reason we have been published in Pontiac Enthusiast, High Performance Pontiac and Trucking magazines. Eric Peters, the president of our company, started in business in 1986 doing restoration work as a side job. Soon after finishing his first project people were hunting him down to do other restorations and collision work because his quality and workmanship was and still is superior! Eric did several custom cars as well as restorations that won awards in every car show they were entered in. A man by the name of Todd Coombs happen to be at a car show where one of Eric's customers had entered her Trans Am. Todd loved the car and found us. At that point our relationship with Mr. Coombs began. He had a few cars that he wanted restored and was very into Pontiacs. One project lead to another and before we knew it we were burning the midnight oil trying to get the F1 projects completed for him, as Todd is the founder of Motorsports Performance Design, Inc. We all sort of lost interest in the project for one reason or another and never really thought we'd sell the parts as separate products, but over the years we kept getting requests for the F1 hoods and spoiler and finally decided to build and sell them seperately as ordered. During the fall of 2001 we thought a lot about selling the parts separately and finally made the decision to go ahead and offer them to the after market community. We also had a great idea for the Monte Carlo and decided to go ahead with that project as well. January 2002 we started offering our parts through word of mouth and on-line. We had much more success with our own word of mouth sales and this year made the decision to start our own web site. This gives us the opportunity to not only offer our products at a lower price, but also affords us the opportunity to meet first hand some of our WONDERFUL customers! We have had an overwhelming response from everyone and are so happy we made the decision to have our own web site! Due to the excitement and enthusiasm you all have shown us, we are now working on several other projects in order to offer even more great products in the near future.
